Dr. Krista Steffenhagen
Dr. Krista is from Red Wing, MN and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota in May of 2008. She is the owner and lead veterinarian at Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital. She purchased the hospital in August of 2015 and continues to grow and build relationships with the families of Blaine and surrounding communities by caring for their pets and ensuring that each owner is involved in the care of their furry family members. She shares her world with her husband Steve, 2 sons and daughter. They share their lives with Benny the cat, Vera the German Short Haired Pointer and Baxter the Quarter Horse. She spends her time riding their horse, training horses, spending time with family and friends, gardening, being active outside; but her most favorite thing is being a Mom!
Dr. Molly Galler
Dr. Molly Galler grew up on a hobby farm in Farmington, Minnesota. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of being a veterinarian when she graduated from the University Of Minnesota College Of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Her interests include dentistry, ophthalmology, and surgery. Outside of work, Dr. Molly loves to spend time with her family: husband Jon, sons Nathan and Hudson, and their English Setter Lexi. As a family, they enjoy outdoor activities like camping, 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, and canoeing.
Dr. Katherine Hanson
Katie’s love for veterinary medicine began when she was in diapers, playing with her family cats. As she grew up, her fascination and desire to care for animals continued to develop. She fell in love with science, especially biology and medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Arts at Gustavus Adolphus College with a major in Biology Science and minor in Religion Studies. She then attended the University of Minnesota where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Throughout her education, she remained committed to extracurricular activities such as Pre-Vet Club, Susan G. Komen Philanthropy, Church Youth Group, Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA), and Alpha Psi Vet Club – always striving to help her community while gaining invaluable veterinary experience.
During her time at the Veterinary Medical Center, she developed a passion for dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and preventative medicine. She expanded her knowledge and experience by working side by side with multiple board-certified specialists in each field.
During her time away from the clinic she enjoys many outdoor activities such as camping, especially in the Boundary Waters, and swimming. In the winter she enjoys speed skating, and when it’s just too cold to go outside, crafting. She additionally loves to travel. She has visited Thailand, Costa Rica, London, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Canada.
She currently has one cat, Elphie, who is a spunky little thing. Elphie was Katie’s first independent spay in vet school – it was love at first sight. She also has the sweetest pittbull mix dog, Ted, who was rescued by her husband through Rotta Love Rescue many years ago.
Lisa is from McGrath, MN and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has been with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital since before the purchase of the clinic in August 2015. She received her CVT from MN School of Business in 2012. She loves knowing that she plays an integral role in helping to keep client’s pets healthy and happy. Lisa shares her life with her husband, Justin; two sons, Micheal and Spencer; and daughter Katrina. They have and love their three cats, Molly, Muffin and Simba. When Lisa isn’t in the clinic you can find her pretty much anywhere outside, camping, hunting, grilling, fishing, swimming, going on nature walks, gardening in her flower or vegetable gardens, or sledding in the winter.
Ashley is from Saint Francis, MN and is a Veterinary Technician. She has been with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital since October 2015. She received her education from Argosy College and Minnesota School of Business. Ashley is especially interested in being in our surgery suite either assisting in the many surgeries done at the hospital or helping pets with their dental care by completing dental x-rays and cleaning/polishing your pet’s teeth. She shares her life with her son Wesley. Her and Wesley are animal lovers and live on their hobby farm with their two German Shephards Sage and Dobby; three cats, Bonnie, Oreo and Kamo; a Paint Horse named Guinness; and their Pot Bellied Pig named Chevy. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and of course riding horses.
Deanna is from Blaine, MN and is a Veterinary Technician. She earned her degree in 2012 from the MN School of Business. She has been with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital since September 2019 but has been in the veterinary field for 8 years. She shares her world with her boyfriend and their 3 dachshunds; Maebelle, Archer, and Barlea along with their 2 cats Booda and Lilly. There is not one thing that Deanna doesn’t love about her career in the animal field. When not working, you can find her spending time with her family, relaxing at home with her fur babies, and doing puzzles.
Amanda is from Coon Rapids, MN and has been a Veterinary Technician since 2014. She earned her Associates Degree in 2014 from MN School of Business and has been in the veterinary field for the last 6 years. She started with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital in the winter of 2019. Amanda and her daughter share their lives with 2 cats named Charlotte and Pumpkin. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is lab medicine and client education. When not working you can find her spending time with her daughter, playing together with their cats, and going to concerts.
Candi is from Coon Rapids, MN and has been with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital since November 2019. She started cleaning kennels in 2002 at her local Veterinary Hospital and went to MN School of Business to gain her CVT in January 2006. She and her son have 3 silly dogs named Linus, Sally and Ella; they also have a cat named Pickle. Her favorite part of animal medicine is emergency and critical care medicine, client education, and surgery. When not at work you can find Candi hiking, kayaking, camping, reading, writing, and cooking.
Danny has been saving lives in the veterinary field since 2000 and chose alternative schooling while stationed aboard the USS Reagan. Her field of study ranged from Aerospace Dynamics to Business Management. She started with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinary Technician within a week of moving to Minnesota in March 2020. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is giving concierge-level service and care to both our patients and their owners. She is most happy when clients leave with a smile and pets leave with wagging tails. She shares her life with her husband, their Rescued Bull Terrier Lucy, and 17-year-old Ball Python named Godiva. When not at work you can find Danny and her husband exploring what Minnesota has to offer and sightseeing. She also loves to be on the water either yacht racing or pleasure sailing and is looking forward to learning about iceboat sailing.
Rachael is from Blaine, MN and is one of the clinic’s Client Communication Specialists. She has been with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital since August 2015. Racheal has over 15 years working in the animal field and her favorite part of her job is working with clients and assisting the veterinarians. She shares her life with her husband Andrew and their daughter Ashlynn. Together they have two chihuahuas, Hank and Elvis; a Dachshund named Max; a German Shepherd Mix named Chancellor; and the biggest fur babies in the house are their cats, Lynryd and Smokey (who only has 2 legs). In her spare time, you can find Rachael traveling and being a Junior Olympics Gymnastics mom, dabbling in photography, completing arts & crafts, and spending time on the lake boating or fishing.
Robyn is from Minneapolis, MN and is a Client Communication Specialist and Veterinary Assistant. She has been with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital since October 2017. She has been in the veterinary field her entire life and her favorite things about her career are that she continues to learn as the industry evolves and that she is helping to build the bond between pet and family. She shares her life with her husband Rolland, and her daughters Jazmin and Camryn. Together they have an Italian Greyhound named Derby, a Weimaraner named Ahna, and 2 cats named Sebastian and Roary. In her spare time, you can find Robyn spending time with her family and friends, reading, completing arts & crafts, going to the beach, riding on the pontoon, and fishing.
Kathryn is from Maple Grove, MN and is a current Veterinary Student at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine with a graduation date in May 2022. She has been in the Veterinary field since high school and started at Blaine Family Veterinary as a Veterinary Assistant in the Spring of 2019. Her favorite parts of animal medicine are radiology, oncology, and internal medicine. She loves the constant change in animal medicine and applying what she has learned to care for many different animals. Kathryn shares her home with her beloved miniature dachshund Roxie and other vet students. When not working or studying hard, she enjoys spending time at her cabin with family and friends, traveling and visiting places such as Belize, Guatemala, and Italy.
Lauren started in the Veterinary field about 4 years ago as a kennel/vet assistant and since then has been cross-trained in all the different functions in animal medicine. She has been with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant since April 2019. She is originally from Illinois but currently resides in Minnesota because she is a Veterinary student at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She is scheduled to graduate from the program in 2022. She currently holds a B.S. in Biology from Illinois University. Her favorite thing in animal medicine is always changing as she continues to learn and grow; however, right now she is really interested in dentistry and clinical pathology. Lauren shares her life in Minnesota with her dog Elway who is a Rottweiler/Great Pyrenees mix. Her family resides in Illinois and tries to see them as much as school will allow. When she can pull herself away from school (and is not visiting her family), Lauren enjoys hikes with Elway, live music, breweries with friends and going to the beach to relax or go boating.
Jesslynn is from Virginia, MN and is a Veterinary Student at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine with an expected graduation date in May 2022. She has been in the animal field for the last 6 years as a vet assistant, animal shelter attendant, and veterinary technician. She started with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital in May 2019 as a Veterinary Assistant. Her favorite thing in animal medicine is mastering her technical skills and interacting with clients. She loves taking what she has learned in school and applying it to making owners and their fur baby’s visits more comfortable. Jesslynn lives with her husband and their adorable cat Charlie. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband, seeing her family in Virginia, MN and traveling.
Karina is from Lino Lakes, MN and has been with Blaine Family Veterinary Hospital since the summer of 2019. She is a lifelong animal lover and board member with Rescued Pets are Wonderful. She and her husband, along with their daughter, share their hobby farm with 2 German Shorthair Pointers; Ainsley and Mavrick along with 10 chickens. Karina loves growing and learning all the different aspects of the veterinary field as she fills her roll as a Veterinary Assistant. When not working you can find Karina hanging out with her tiny human, fostering puppies, hiking through the woods, and being at the cabin.
